The Alpine County Library Offers the Following Services:
- Online Catalog for all Alpine County materials
- Read/research past articles from the Los Angeles Times, San Jose Mercury News and the San Francisco Chronicle online in the Library

- Books, magazines, audiobooks, videos and games available for checkout
- Newspapers, tax forms, maps and documents
- Photocopier and FAX service
- Computers for public use, including Internet access, wireless access, and word processing
- Interlibrary Loan access to materials from libraries throughout the country
- Bookmobile service to outlying areas of the county
- Special programs for children and adults
- Used Books Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Library
The Archives (in Markleeville)houses the following records:
- County records dating from 1864
- Court records
- Property rolls
- Mining records
- Great Registers (List of registered voters)
- Vital records
- Maps and blueprints
NEW! The Archives now has CD's containing all the Alpine County Grand Jury reports from 1864 to 2001 and also CD's containing early Grant Deeds and Mining Claims and Board of Supervisors minutes up to about the 1920's. Patrons can view the CD's in the library or purchase copies for $1.00 per CD. For more information please contact the Library/Archives staff.
