May 5, 2009 The Alpine County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the implementation of the Reverse 9-1-1 System for all of Alpine County. If any kind of emergency arises, where the public needs to be given information or advised of action to take, the system can be activated for an area as large as the entire county, or as small as one street or neighborhood. Reverse 9-1-1 will leave messages on your answering machine or voicemail if you do not answer. Data for known residential phone numbers within Alpine County, both listed and unlisted has been put into the system. You can be contacted in other ways, such as a call to a cell phone or even an email. A form to add information to the system is available on the Alpine County website at www.alpinecountyca.gov, or by contacting the Sheriff’s Office directly at 530-694-2231 extension 330 or by emailing chris@alpineso.com. Updates and additions to your information in the system can be made as often as necessary. This project was made possible by the State of California Telephone Emergency Number System (TENS) Grant, and was implemented with the cooperation and assistance of the Douglas County 911 Center.
